There are a couple of great tools I use which may help others;

DimDim : Free, No Install, Registration required to “Host”, Voice, Video (20 people) & Desktop Sharing.

TokBox : Free, No Install, Registration required to “Host”, Voice & Video (20 people) but no Desktop Sharing.

TeamViewer : Free, Install Required, No Registration Required, Voice & Video (1-to-1).

Clearly DimDim is the winner at the moment, I’ll update if / when this changes! :-)

Online Tools – Part 1

http://www.webtoolhub.com is a useful resource for online tools. I particularly like their;

- Online Text Case Changer
- What’s my IP?
- Online HTML Email Protector
- Free Fonts

Online In-Browser IRC Client

http://www.mibbit.com (Handy for when firewalls block IRC ports!)

I use it when I need to connect to technical IRC channels to get / give help when behind a firewall.

Online FTP Server Test

http://ftptest.net

Useful for testing internal / external servers without worrying about your own external access security configuration.

Easy ASCII Codes

http://www.ascii-code.com

A useful website listing all the ascii codes available.

To use them practically;

1. Find the character you want to use from the “Symbol” column.
2. Press and hold the “Alt” key and use your number pad to type the digit(s) listed  in the “DEC” column of that character’s row.

This will return the relevant character to wherever you are currently typing.

Some codes I find useful; (“Alt” + the following on the “Num Pad”)

0128 = €
0162 = ¢
0163 = £
0165 = ¥

0064 = @
0153 = ™
0169 = ©
0174 = ®

0177 = ±
0215 = ×
0247 = ÷
0186 = º
0185 = ¹
0178 = ²
0179 = ³

0191 = ¿
